The hollow spheres are very light and usually have a diameter of less than one millimeter, they hardly react with other materials, they are extremely resistant to pressure and only melt at temperatures above 1,000 °C.
Typical applications are:
- in the construction sector;
- as a component of perforated concrete;
- in the formulation of industrial adhesives;
- insulating materials and wall panels;
- in foundry and refractory applications;
- as well as in the production of polymers and plastics.
Thanks to their low weight and inertia, microspheres offer, among others, the following advantages:
- Weight loss;
- Low thermal conductivity;
- Increased fluidity;
- Greater temperature resistance.
