An additional thermoreflective layer for the interior
Insuladd Thermal Block Primer, one of the three special Insuladd paints, is a low-VOC thermal reflective substrate for interiors formulated to increase the thermoreflective performance of ceramic finish paints, thanks to the special formulation that enhances the performance of Nanoceramix particles contained in it.
Thermal Block Primer does not contain antifouling chemical agents but counteracts mold thanks to thermoreflection, and acts as an additional layer of Nanoceramix, increasing the energy efficiency of the treated wall.
A low protective layer for outdoor use
Insuladd R.B.C. is an outdoor preparation fund specially designed to waterproof walls and protect them from atmospheric agents and excessive accumulations of moisture. R.B.C. means Radiant Barrier Coating.
Its semi-breathable formulation creates a protective barrier impermeable to external moisture agents, which will ensure a high resistance of the treated plaster and an excellent and tenacious anchoring surface for the final layer of the external varnishing.
R.B.C, similar to Thermal Block Primer, does not contain anti-fouling chemical agents such as the classic anti-mold compounds, but actively opposes mold and condensation formations, as it contains Nanoceramix particles along with aluminum pigments. Thanks to the combination of these two elements, the surfaces treated with Insuladd R.B.C. have a high thermoreflection index, then dissipate the steam in the vicinity contrasting phenomena of spontaneous condensation.
The special formulation of Insuladd R.B.C. makes this primer a paint with a lower emissivity than normal. This means that R.B.C. acts as a “filter” to the passage in both directions of the radiant heat, and, putting it outside the house, in addition to increasing the effect of thermoreflection of the two successive layers of painting for outdoor with Nanoceramix, constitutes a barrier “The other way” to the hot outing in winter.
Even in summer R.B.C. inside (recommended only for attic attic roofs) is an insulating layer able to reject heat in a non-directional way. Below is a test that demonstrates the thermal insulating action (not only thermoreflective “directional”) of R.B.C., which is at a higher level of technology than the simple thermoreflective treatment with two layers of Nanoceramix.

Nell’esperimento seguente si dimostra l’efficacia di R.B.C. nell’essere realmente termoisolante . Le immagini sono relative ad un appartamento situato all’ultimo piano di un condominio, direttamente sotto il tetto. In estate il calore (proveniente dall’esterno) che si accumulava nelle stanze era insopportabile.
Per risolvere il problema del caldo indesiderato il proprietario dell’abitazione ha optato per Insuladd R.B.C., il primer speciale che blocca il calore sia in entrata che in uscita.
As is evident from infrared images, the passage of heat through the ceiling is greatly reduced thanks to the use of Insuladd R.B.C.
Then the ceiling was entirely painted with white tempera containing Nanoceramix.
Insuladd R.B.C. blocks and reflects the passage of heat from both inside and outside. It is normally used as a primer for the external walls of any building: in addition to insulating thermally it blocks infiltrations and regulates humidity, without adversely affecting the breathability of the wall, indeed preventing the formation within fungi and mold.
After the operation on the ceiling described in the experiment, the room in question was again comfortable even in the hot summer months, and the use of air conditioning was considerably limited.
Even in winter the effect of Insuladd R.B.C. and Nanoceramix was appreciated: the upward heat flow, which normally disperses through the ceiling, is reflected inside the room, and this process allows to save resources (and money) for heating.
As previously mentioned, we recommend the use of Insuladd R.B.C. as an internal primer only on the ceilings of attic rooms. For all the other types of wall and ceiling inside it is instead recommended the application of a coat of Insuladd Thermal Block Primer, to increase the thermoreflective effect of the subsequent finishing layers containing Nanoceramix.
